Meaningful Song

Hello, guys!

Today, I want to tell you about one of my favorite song of all the time. I really love this song (or the singer of the song?) and I would like to tell you guys the reason why I like this song. It has a deeeeeeep meaning for me and I listen to it everytime I feel sad. So, check it out!

“Little Things” by One Direction is a single from the album Take Me Home. The song was written by famous singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran and Fiona Bevan.

Here is the lyric of the song:

Your hand fits in mine like it’s made just for me
But bear this in mind, it was meant to be
And I’m joining up the dots with the freckles on your cheeks
And it all makes sense to me…

I know you’ve never loved the crinkles by your eyes when you smile
You’ve never loved your stomach or your thighs, the dimples in your back at the bottom of your spine
But I’ll love them endlessly

[Zayn & Liam:]
I won’t let these little things
Slip out of my mouth
But if I do
It’s you
Oh it’s you
They add up to
I’m in love with you
And all these little things

You can’t go to bed without a cup of tea
And maybe that’s the reason that you talk in your sleep
And all those conversations are the secrets that I keep
Though it makes no sense to me

I know you’ve never loved the sound of your voice on tape
You never want to know how much you weigh, you still have to squeeze into your jeans
But you’re perfect to me

[Harry & Niall:]
I won’t let these little things
Slip out of my mouth
But if it’s true
It’s you
It’s you
They add up to
I’m in love with you
And all these little things

You’ll never love yourself half as much as I love you
And you’ll never treat yourself right darlin’ but I want you to
If I let you know I’m here for you
Maybe you’ll love yourself like I love you, oh

I’ve just let these little things
Slip out of my mouth
‘Cause it’s you
Oh it’s you
It’s you they add up to
And I’m in love with you
And all these little things

I won’t let these little things
Slip out of my mouth
But if it’s true
It’s you
It’s you
They add up to
I’m in love with you
And all your little things

The song is about a boy who loves a girl so much that he even loves all the bad little things that the girl has. They boy says that the girl is made for him, and he doesn’t mind about the freckles on her cheek. People always say  that girls with freckles are ugly, but for him, its is very beautiful on her.
He knows that she complains about her body everytime, about her fat stomach or that she doesn’t have a thigh gap, but he doesn’t care about it.
He knows that the girl doesn’t like her own voice, and she feels like she puts on too much or too less weigh, but he loves her anyway.
But, he doesn’t want her to change a single thing. He doesn’t want her to feel bad about herself and feeling sad. He wants her to love all the little things in herself, and if she couldn’t love herself, then he will.
This song gave me strenght to love all the bad things that I have. When I feel low about myself, I always listen to this song to boost my self-esteem up. I don’t need to worry anymore about my crush finding out those bad little things in me, because a real one will love them anyway. I am told to love myself the way I am withouth changing a thing that I don’t like. So, when you feel bad about yourself, you don’t need to be sad because they say you are beautiful just the way you are. You have to love yourself even that you don’t like your bloated stomach, your too skinny thighs, or your very thin body, or about your skin colour or everything.

Dewa Athena

Hello, people! Welcome back to my blog.

Today, I’m gonna tell you about one of so many events in my school. The name of the event is ‘Dewa Athena’. What is Dewa Athena? I don’t even know is it an acronym or not, but it is a sport event. The 10th and 11th grader should participate in this event.

Every class should send a team for each competition. There are soccer for men and women, badminton, dodgeball for men and women, basketball, gobak sodor, volleyball, and marathon. I participated for dodgeball, but we lost in our very first try.

Dewa Athena started on April 10th of 2016. Every class should have their own jersey. Our class made jersey for all of us, the colour is grey and it had two yellow-green lines on the shoulder. I got  19 as my number.

We headed to Lapangan Bali in the morning to do an opening ceremony. After that, we had to do a marathon, and lol I was very tired because I wasn’t used to run for such a long distance.

I didn’t come to Dewa Athena on the second and third day because I wasn’t feeling well, but I asked my friend and heard that my class was good.

I wasn’t playing well in Dewa Athena, but from all the team that we sent to participate the event, the volleyball team was the only one to go to the semifinal. The team didn’t win the match, but they were very great! It’s a good thing they played very well that they made it to the semifinal.

That’s all that I can tell you. I hope my class would win the next Dewa Athena.

Education for Better Future

What is an education? Education is the process of facilitating learning, or the acquisition of knowledge, skills, values, beliefs, and habits. Education is one of important things in our life. Every person in this world needs a good education, to survive and living the life. Also, education is a right of human being.
Every person wants to have a good future, and a good education is a key to it. The problem is, not all people can get it. Why?
There are some questions that need to be answered. Do we have a good education system? Does this kind of education teach us right? Does this kind of education show us a better future?
Students only sit for hours without knowing what they are listening to. The teacher is speaking non-stop, making them bored. They are forced to understand all of the school subjects. Five or six days in a week they have to repeat this cycle again and again.
Sometimes, the teacher wants the students to study by theirselves, like doing presentation or working in groups. Students are forced to understand the subject without the teacher explaining. If we keep doing this again and again, sooner or later, students won’t need teachers anymore. Teachers nowadays are just giving grades without giving knowledge like they used to.
A good education system should teach students about how to do something, how to work on something, how to be something, and how to live with the others. In school, we are not just studying all the time but we also need to socialize. A good education system is not only about a super-smart brain, but also a good character in someone. A good education system won’t make students feel bored and oppressed. But the truth is, many students are oppressed.
This means that the education system that we have is not effective. The form of education that will make a better future is a form where mind and heart are combined. School isn’t just about making smart kids, but also a humble one. An education that can bring us to a better future is not just about studying all day and all night, but it is about learning the values and characters. An education that is a key to a better future is not only making smart students. It will be better if our country realize about this soon and start changing the education system so that the future generation will have such a shining future.

Milwaukee Art Museum

Milwaukee Art Museum (MAM) is an art museum that located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, with a collection of over 30.000 works of art. This building was formed when the Milwaukee Art Institute and Layton Art Gallery merged their collections in 1957.

The museum has more than 30.000 works of art on its four floors, with works from antiquity to the present. There are paintings, drawings, decorative arts, prints, photographs, and many others.

Not only the arts that we could enjoy there, but we could also enjoy the architecture of the building. It has such a beautiful architecture. From what I see, I think the shape of the museum is similar to a ship. After doing some research about this place, I became interested. I would like to visit such a beautiful place like this someday!

My Last Holiday

The holiday started after getting my school report. It was such a long holiday, but I didn’t really enjoy it because I stayed home all the time on the first week of holiday.

I didn’t go anywhere to celebrate Christmas, but I visited one of my relatives who lived in Bandung too. My family and I had a good time there. We talked about so many things and then I went home in midnight.

The next day, my mom told me that she really wanted to make some cookies. I didn’t really know how to make cookies but my mom did, so we made so many cookies (there were too many cookies that until now we couldn’t eat them all). We gave them to our friends and neighbors. The cookies were really delicious, I suggested my mom to sell them, haha.

Three days before the new year, my dad’s family came to celebrate with us. Unfortunately, just a month ago, my dad’s uncle passed away so we still could feel the sadness in my dad’s family. The amount of people who came to my house were nine—including two babies. My dad’s younger brother who was in Purwokerto also came, so there were the total of ten.

We planned to explore Bandung because my relatives were really excited. We created the list—Ciater, Trans Studio, and many other places but unfortunately, we saw the news and almost every places we wanted to visit was full of people. Beside of it, we were afraid we could get stuck in the traffic. Because of that, we decided not to go anywhere. I was really bored to death.

We spent the three days at home. But because there were Jeco and Evelyn—the two babies—they were enough to light up the atmosphere at my house. They cried, laughed, screamed all the time. Sometimes we freaked out when they cried because we didn’t know how to calm them down, but that created the moment between our families.

I helped my mom to cook. I wasn’t good at cooking, so I just helped easy things that didn’t need any cooking skill. She knew that I didn’t like spicy food, but she cooked a super-duper-ultra-mega-spicy chicken and she forced me to eat them all. It was delicious but because it was spicy, I hated them and I wouldn’t eat them anymore.

In the new year’s eve, we cooked some sausages and others. We spent an hour or two to tell about our wishes in 2016. My relatives bought some fireworks and when we light up one and it exploded in the sky, the babies were crying because they were scared so we didn’t play it anymore.

Even though there were many people in my house, I couldn’t deny that I was really bored. When my relatives got back to Jakarta, my house felt empty and I had nothing to do at all. I just watched movies and dramas all the time. My activities were only sleeping, eating, taking a shower, watching, and repeating them all days all nights. I didn’t do anything useful in my holiday.

So, not gonna lie, I could say my last holiday was the most boring holiday in my life. I usually went somewhere or visited my relatives that didn’t live in Bandung, but this time I just stayed home. But I was happy that I could sleep as long as I want, and forgot about the school life. Maybe the next holiday would be better than this one!

My School Life

It’s been 4 months since I became the student of SMAN 3 Bandung. My school life here for the past four months was not going really well. I had a lot of friends, but, I couldn’t deal with homeworks and exams. I’ve never had enough sleep since I went to this school. I wasn’t used to study until midnight, but now almost everyday I had to keep myself awake until 1 AM. Even though I did that every night, the results of the exams that I have passed weren’t that good. I couldn’t even reach the standard score. But now, my condition is getting better everyday. I start to learn how to survive in this school; my time management needs to be fixed. Before, I played with my friends in my free time, now I have to do homeworks and study. This is different with my usual daily life, but I’m getting used to it.

School is boring if you aren’t active in any extracurricular or events. I registered myself in three extracurricular; SSR, MK, and Komisi. I like drawing things and everything that smells like art. I also like music, and I want to learn how to play another music instrument. I also like money! I mean, isn’t it fun getting money from your own effort? Those three are the extracurriculars that fit me the most. I really can’t wait to be the part of them! I really hope I can be active in the tree or two or only one of them, so that I won’t waste my time for the next 8 months.

At first, maybe I was uncomfortable with the school, but I believe, after getting used to it, I’ll enjoy my school life.

Descriptive Text

A few weeks ago, I went to Traffic Park. Traffic Park is located not too far from my school; it is located on Belitung Street number 1.

If you don’t know what is Traffic Park, it’s an educational park for children. In this park, children can learn the rules of the road and other useful things about traffic. Besides of it, Traffic Park is a good place for recreational activities for family.

I went there with three of my friends; Audrey, Nayo, and Radhin, but my main partner this time is Audrey. We all had a lot of fun playing there, but we didn’t forget to observe the place as well. So, here you go.

The gate of this park is not really big. After entering the gate, you will see some playgrounds for children. Some of them are not in a really good condition, but the others are working well. Around the playgrounds, we can see some animal statues such as horse, elephant, zebra, giraffe, and the others. Some statues have lost their body parts.

Besides of them, we can see some traffic rules around the park. There is a train to go around the park, but unfortunately, when we were there, the train wasn’t working so we had to walk around by ourselves.

The park is in a clean condition. It is such a good place to take pictures, by the way.

Here are some photos of me and my friends in the Traffic Park! I really suggest you to come there anytime you want!

Meet My New Friend!

Hello! It’s been a while since I became the student of SMAN 3 Bandung. I got so many new friends here, and today I want to introduce you one of them.

Her full-name is Kirana Pavita Tomridjo, but I usually call her ‘Avi’. She has the long black hair. She is smart and beautiful. I don’t know much about her but I want to, so I asked her a few things. Here they are.

She was born on 14th of August 2001 in Balikpapan. You must be wondering why she’s really young, right? Well, in her old junior high school, she joined the acceleration class. That’s why she is one year younger than the others.

Her dad’s name is Lufi D. Tomridjo, and her mom’s name is Susilowati. She has a brother named Angga. He attends the same school with us and is sixteen years old.

She had lived in many city when she was a child. She used to live in Jakarta before, that’s why she doesn’t know much about Bandung.

She joined the same class with me, X IPA 9. Her favorite subject is art. She likes art because she thinks the teacher is very good.

Talking about things that she likes, she likes to eat pizza with pepperoni as the topping. Her hobby is listening to music. Her idol is Cara Delevingne, a model. Cara is so beautiful and is one of her inspiration.

She still doesn’t know what does she want to be in the future. But, she wishes to make her parents feel proud of her.

I took a picture with her. Here you go! (the one without glasses is me).

Thanks for reading! 🙂

Monday, 24th of August 2015. Today, we had a lesson about giving compliments. Here is the dialogue that me and two of my friends practiced.

Pungki   : Hi, fellas!

Iona      : Hi, what are you doing here?

Pungki   : I’m going to the ballroom to attend a party.

Kharyn  : Wow, I can’t believe I meet you here! Well, your dress is so beautiful.

Iona      : Where did you buy it, Pungki?

Pungki   : I didn’t buy it, but my boyfriend bought it for me.

Kharyn  : Aww, what a sweet boyfriend you have!

Pungki   : Thanks. Anyway, why are you wearing the same bracelet?

Iona      : Really? I didn’t realize it!

Kharyn  : It is such a coincidence!

Pungki   : Anyway, they are beautiful. Ah, I got to go now, bye!
